Birth & Postpartum Doula

  • Birth Doula: ($1,500)

    • As a birth doula, Rebecca, accompanies birthing folk in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. Rebecca will draw on her professional training knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with the midwife/medical team to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. Prior to your labor, Rebecca, will meet with you and your partner at minimum of two times for 60-90min. to become acquainted, to explore, and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns, to discuss your birth plan, and to plan how we might best work together. Except for extraordinary circumstances, she will remain with you throughout labor and birth.

    • Additionally, she will remain with you for one or two hours after birth, until you are comfortable and your family is ready for quiet time together. She will ensure you have something warming and nourishing to eat before she departs.

    • Rebecca will normally schedule one postpartum visit within 2-3 days/or within the first week after birth for a "plateca" or sacred heart-to-heart conversation, and to schedule a postpartum healing ceremony to occur at 40-days postpartum (the ceremony will include a sacral yoni steam or medicine bath, and closing of the bones).

    • Rebecca completed her training and obtained certification through DONA International, Postpartum Healing Lodge, and Sacred Birth.

    • Rebecca is currently only accepting home birth and birthing center clients.

  • Postpartum Doula: (Variable)

    • As a postpartum doula (PPD), it is the doula’s role to care for the postpartum family and to support bonding between mother and baby. Rebecca’s goal is to support you in your transition to motherhood, provide emotional, physical, informational, and practical support. Visits can include healing touch, caring for baby and/or household responsibilities (as defined during our initial conversations). She may offer breastfeeding support, help with infant care and baby comfort measures, help with sleeping issues, and assistance with your first excursions with the new baby. Rebecca can help care for siblings in order to allow more time for mother and baby to bond.

    • Rebecca can bring meals that are specifically created for postpartum healing at an additional cost or can cook the food of your choice.

    • Rebecca may also run other errands for you if needed.

    • She will provide a postpartum healing ceremony to occur at 40-days postpartum (the ceremony will include a sacral yoni steam or medicine bath, and closing of the bones).

      • A deposit of $300 will hold open a window 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after expected due date.

      • The doula may partner with another certified PPD or PPD in training to provide support; Rebecca will always discuss and request approval during initial consultation.
